Safety, Nutrition, Activity, and Care for Kids (SNACK) is a program offered through Maricopa County and First Things First to provide training and assistance to childcare centers in the Northwest Valley of Maricopa County on healthy eating and physical activity using the national award winning ‘Color Me Healthy’ curriculum.  For more information on how to schedule your site for a training session, please call 602-506-6850.

  • Child Abuse Prevention Center - Southwest Human Development, the Birth to Five Helpline (1-877-705-KIDS), and the Fussy Baby Program
  • www.brightfutures.org - Bright Futures Health Promotion Initiative
  • Child Growth Guidelines - The Centers for Disease Control offers resources for parents, childcare providers, educators, and policy makers on tracking and evaluating a child’s growth. Free materials available to order

  • www.kids.gov - Kids Health is the official kids' portal for the U.S. government. It links to over 2,000 web pages from government agencies, schools, and educational organizations, all geared to the learning level and interest of kids
  • www.girlshealth.gov - The Girls Health site was created to help girls (ages 10-16) learn about health, growing up, and issues they may face. It focuses on health topics that girls are concerned about and helps motivate them to choose healthy behaviors by using positive, supportive, and non-threatening messages. The site gives girls reliable, useful information on the health issues they will face as they become young women and tips on handling relationships with family and friends, at school and at home.
